Life since high school:
(April, 2001)  My husband, Frank, just retired from PG&E on Oct. 1, 2000, and wanted me to leave (PG&E) with him and so...I did, as of March 1, 2001. Now, we can both travel and see the world. I continue to study French and maybe will be able to spend some time in France. We'll also be putting in a lot of time on the golf course and I'm hoping to get those pictures in albums, finally! I've accumulated lots of them with five of my own daughters and one of Frank's. The girls are:
  • 34: Frank's daughter who lives in Waukegan, IL. Married & adopting-should be this year. The rest are mine...
  • 31: S.F., CA married-just had our first granddaughter on March 21-works for Imagine Media Magazines in Advertising. CSUS grad.
  • 29: Antelope, CA (no of Sacramento)to be married Sept. 8-works at Progressive Ins. Co. CSUS grad.
  • 27: Roseville, CA single-works at Hewlett-Packard
  • 24: Roseville, CA single-going to American River College & works at Home Depot
  • 18: Graduating from Del Oro HS, Loomis-going to Sierra College in the Fall.

Now that's what's current statistically. Let me know what all of you have been doing!

Subsequent messages:
(April, 2002) Frank retired from PG&E in Oct 2000 and talked me into leaving in Feb 2001.We went to Sedona, Flagstaff and the surrounding area returning home via Vegas and Central Calif. It was great traveling for two weeks. So, last year was filled with a baby shower for our second-oldest daughter (of 6) who lived in the City and then the birth of our first granddaughter, Sidney. I made many trips there to visit; needless-to-say they're such a joy!!! We went to So. England and Ireland in June and came home to plan for the marriage of our 3rd daughter on Sept. 8 which included another shower. It turned out great. Well, after all that, I decided I needed to go back to work. So I did in December. We've gotten the new couch we needed as well as a new computer. The needlepoint I started when I was off will just have to wait to be finished. So... golf is on the back-burner, too. I still read a bit and seem to be dealing with other computer (we have 3) problems but those kinds of things are dying down now. Summer's almost here and I'm looking forward to opening the pool. I've gotta get those albums DONE!!!

Oh, yes, We went to the Rose Parade and back to Arizona for a mini-reumion with family in Scottsdale at New Year's and just got back from 2 1/2 weeks in Georgia and Florida; Thomasville, Orlando, Daytona, Ft Myers and KEY WEST!!! Loved it! We even snorkeled and kayaked off Key West!!! Just like summer...in March!! So that's my little update for now. I'm missing lots about our other girls...but enough's enough!

(October, 2002) I'm sorry I missed the reunion this summer. It sounded like everyone had a good time so I hope to make the next one, I don't want to miss out.

I really have enjoyed the reunions I've attended. It's been fun seeing people and reminiscing! I was very excited that some actually remembered me! I just wanted to thank you all for your friendship. Terra Nova was the 9th school I attended since I started school. I was born and raised in S.F. but Mom & Dad moved a lot when I was growing up. I didn't have that long connection like lots of people have from growing up in the same area with the same neighbors and going to school with the same kids. When my sister, Peri, and I started at Terra Nova in my mid-Junior year, we LOVED it because everyone was so friendly. It wasn't as much fun going to SSF H.S. where everyone was so tied up with their little special groups, it made it hard to feel a part of the cool school scene. So, we didn't care that we HAD to move to Pacifica. I remember the surfing craze starting and it was great living near the ocean and being able to walk there if we wanted to. I didn't surf but sure enjoyed living on the Coast.

All in all, I have great memories from my TN years (1 1/2 years) and although I haven't done GREAT things with my life, I'm content with my 5 daughters, 1 step-daughter, 3 sons-in-law and 2 granddaughters...They keep me very happy and busy!!! I left my job at PG&E on March 1, 2001, after 13 years but I went back in December, 2001, after my 3rd daughter got married and the stock market was not showing signs of improving. You can only do so much on retirement income (at least our retirement income) and I really don't mind for now. I'm hoping that my husband won't mind it for a while either, since he's staying retired! It was MY decision to go back to work and since I'm (ALL OF US are) so young, I'll just work a bit longer!

(July, 2003)  We are doing ok, maybe a weak-fine :) Our daughter, Janea (Ja-na-ya) is out from Utah for her internship in SF for the summer as part of her Masters Program. I'll be in Utah next week moving Janea's stuff into storage and also looking for a new place for her to stay when school resumes in August. It seems they sold the duplex Janea was renting, so I need to take care of some loose ends.

Our home has been on the market just short of two months now - lots of lookers but no check-books yet. So as you can guess, I haven't located any employment so far. I have been working Pro-Bono (equity) for a place in Redwood City, OpenCountry to fill the massive gap in my resume. But it don't help pay the bills.

Hopefully the house will sell soon so we can pay all our friends and relatives back and have some left over to buy a smaller home.

(September, 2004)  I went back to work again (for the second time) but this time it will be the last here in CA. We're moving to Florida! I've never lived anywhere else and this is my chance. We'll be moving to a "Del Webb-type" "retirement" community north of Orlando. You might know someone in one of "those" places. I do and they LOVE it! It's a lot of work to move across the country, as I'm sure some of you know. We've flown there several times (just got back from Florida and that's why we couldn't make the picnic) and then with having new grandchildren, too... it keeps you going! We all sure aren't old enough to be retired, but my husband is and he's very happy about that!! He (& I) want to golf more and travel, etc. We'll be returning to CA at least 3-4 times a year to see the grandchildren. We have 3 in California. We'll also be going to Illinois to see our other daughter and granddaughter. At least that is the plan now. The move will put me on the same coast as my mom, sister and 2 nephews and close enough to run up to Virginia and help if needed; however, mom's in pretty good shape and probably won't need anything for awhile...but, you never know.
