Life since high school:
(July, 2003) I've promised to write something about what I've been doing since 1965 (gee, that's a long time ago). I looked at some of the works and it seemed too big for me. Let me give you a shortened version of what I've been doing since our graduation, June 18, 1965, which was also the 150th anniversary of the battle of Waterloo.
From 1965 to 1970 I went to the University of San Francisco. I started as a chemistry major but changed from that to history, which accounts for the extra year. I graduated in 1970 and was also commissioned 2nd Lieutenant in the Army. From 1971 to 1974 I was on active duty with the Army and was stationed at Fort Benning, GA and Fort Lewis, WA. In 1972 I married Anne Weisner from Modesto, who graduated in 1972 as a nurse from USF.
In 1974 we moved back to the Bay Area and bought a home in Daly City (on Skyline Drive, just above FDR School and near Fairmont in Pacifica). In 1977 our first daughter. Stephanie, was born. She is now married and living in Houston, TX with her husband and newborn son (our grandson). Our second daughter Sarah was born in 1983 and has completed her sophomore year at CSU Stanislaus in Turlock, CA. She is studying business. I received my Masters in Business Administration from USF after we moved back. While working on my MBA I was Executive Director for the San Mateo County Republican Party, back when Republicans could get elected in this area. I also was the campaign manager for Congressman Bill Royer, who won a special election after Congressman Leo Ryan was murdered in Guyana. Since 1981 I have been a representative and file partner with Voter Contact Services, a firm which maintains and enhances computerized voter files throughout the United States. During that time I have worked in political races for offices at the local, state and federal level, including President. I also do district vote and demographic analyses for candidates, which is like marketing except you use precinct election history and voter file demographic information. Besides politics we enjoy going to the opera and symphony, travel (especially to spoil our grandson) and golf. I am a past president of the Lincoln Park Golf Club in San Francisco. Both of my parents have died, and Anne's mom died on Labor Day last year. We try and visit her dad as often as possible. It's made easier because he lives in Modesto and Sarah is at school in Turlock.
Well, that's a bit longer than I thought, but it gives all the details.
