I SENT A LATE PICNIC INVITE TO HIM AFTER GEORGE HINKLE GAVE ME HIS ADDRESS. UNFORTUNATELY, BOB AND HIS WIFE WERE ON VACATION BUT SENT THE FOLLOWING EMAIL UPON HIS RETURN:

I was so surprised and pleased to hear from you! My wife, Irene, and I just returned and found your e-mail. Had we been in town we certainly would have come to the picnic. Please let me know how it went and what teachers and former students that I might remember showed up.

I retired about ten years ago from the position of superintendent of the Jefferson Union High School District. I replaced Floyd Gonella when he moved to the San Mateo County Superintendency. Of all the jobs I had in education, I enjoyed counselling the best. We purchased a second home in Huntington Beach after I retired because my son and his family live there. We go down there almost every month for ten days to two weeks to help baby sit the grandchildren, Mario (nine years) and Antonia (five years). We have a great time down there but we still consider Daly City our home. Irene and I do some volunteer work when we are up here.
