Life since high school:

I did not graduate with the class of '65.  Was hit by a drunk driver while crossing the street.  Suffered two broken legs, a fractured pelvis and a concussion.  I was in a coma and given two weeks to live. I did graduate in 1966, from San Mateo High School.  Recuperation took two years.

As a result of this l started working in the medical field.  Started as a nurses' aide in the late 60's. Married Richard 1970.  We have three children. Casey 1971, Lisa 1973, & Austin in 1985.  Grandchildren number 6 & climbing.

Went back to school in the 80's and received AA in medical assisting.  Went to work for Kaiser Hospital until Richard was transferred to Kansas City, Mo., with the Ford Motor Co.  in 1985.

Received AA in nursing from Penn Valley CC.  Returned to Webster University and completed my BSN, in nursing.  Worked and eventually wound up working for our veterans.  KCVA hospital became my most rewarding experience. The vets are special people and I loved caring for them, men as well as women. Worked all over the hospital.  PCU was my main floor.  Retired from VA.

We will celebrate 42 years of marriage in May.   We have lived in Kearney Mo since 1985.  We have traveled to Hawaii, Florida, Mexico, East & West coast, Alaskan cruise, & many states in between.  The Platte River has seen us - for many years - in March to view the Sand Hill Cranes.

The site for TNT '65 is great. It's so good to read about so many people you may think about now and then and wonder what happened to them. Now we know.........Sandra Reiter.
