Life since high school:
(July, 2005) My family moved the summer before graduation to Walnut Creek, so I graduated from Pleasant Hill instead of Terra Nova. After the summer, I moved on my own to San Francisco. I started working for San Francisco Savings & Loan, and also enjoyed the self-discovery and freedom the 60s offered. On a whim in 1973 I decided to move to Sonoma and leave the big city life. I enjoyed the country life as Sonoma was then, working in the lab at Sonoma Valley Hospital. What a great time to live in Sonoma - a time I will never forget.
After winning a two-week Caribbean cruise, I decided a career change was in order. I found travel to be my true calling, so I went to work for Flying Dutchman Travel in Santa Rosa.
Two years later, in 1980, I hopped in my car with my two dogs as it was time to move north again. Tried Seattle first - a great city, but Portland was a better fit. So in 1983 I moved to my new hometown, Portland, Oregon.
Since moving here, much has happened. Thankfully, I'll spare you the gory details of life's lessons...
I now have a home I enjoy, filled with antiques, art, treasures from
my travels, and my gardens which is another passion of mine. I hav e
three cats, a dog named Charlie, and a sweetie, Steve, that I happily share
my life with. We also have chickens and 2 bunnies in our urban farm.
Actually, we have two beautiful houses side by side. Doesn't
get much better than that! I work for the largest travel agency in
the Northwest where I manage the cruise division for 14 branches. This
profession has alllowed us to take two Mediterranean cruises in the last
few years. Through my nearly 30 years in the travel industry, I have
been blessed to have traveled the world and now can share it with the love
of my life.
So, I probably won't be moving North again any time soon, but Italy
sure sounds nice...
